The Lechuza Self Watering System

LECHUZA helps you avoid daily watering and the problems of over or under-watering:

The large water reservoir in the bottom of the container is simply filled using the integrated water supply shaft. The plant then takes care of itself for up to 12 weeks with exactly the right amount of water and nutrients that it needs for optimum growth.

Apart from the fact that plants need to be watered much less frequently, LECHUZA ensures that your houseplants develop beautifully and this all-round care rewards you with better growth than with conventional culture systems.
And the best thing: this system also works for pot plants outdoors – on the terrace, on the balcony or in the garden.

LECHUZA meets the needs of the customer with its sub-irrigation set that was developed in-house. The inexpensive LECHUZA sub-irrigation set is available for each container shape and model size. The set can be fitted into the plant container in minutes and you can plant the plants of your choice in soil as usual. This compares favourably with other planter styles.

Did you know that most plants in domestic households are actually watered too often?
Floppy leaves on houseplants are not due to lack of water. Often they are watered too often, or forgotten for a long time in hectic everyday life and then given too much in one go...

Caring for plants was never so easy!

HOW TO USE LECHUZA PLANTERS
It's this simple:

1. Insert LECHUZA sub-irrigation set (separator, supply shaft and water level indicator) into the planter and place the LECHUZA-PON or any sterilized drainage material onto the separator (about 1 inch deep).

2. Add potting soil to the planter, insert plant with roots, and fill the planter with soil. Compact soil well.

3. For the next three months, continue to water the plants from above through the soil. After that, the plant will supply itself from the reservoir. After three months, your plant's roots will have grown far enough into the moist area that they will be able to obtain water from the reservoir without your assistance.

Refill the water reservoir only after the water level indicator is at "Min".
