Helix hibernica is a vigorous large evergreen Ivy climber with broad, 5-lobed dark green leaves to 12cm in width with defined lighter veining and a paler underside when mature. . Small greenish flowers in umbels are followed by black berries. The leaves of the flowering shoots are, however, oval with entire margins. Flowering occurs in Sept/October. The fruits are blue-black berries.
Hedera helix 'Hibernica', alternatively known as Atlantic or Irish Ivy is salt tolerant, this particular variety is ideal for coastal areas.
