Instant hedging - Osmanthus burkwoodii in a trough. This variety is evergreen and produces small dark green leaves. If pruned frequently it will form an amazingly dense hedge, perfect for low instant natural privacy screening. This is a slow-growing species that will eventually grow to just over 2 metres in height. If left slightly unpruned, it will produce a many white, highly fragranced flowers in April and May, however if it is prunned frequently it will not produce as many flowers.
While Osmanthus burkwoodii instant hedging is becoming increasingly popular thanks to the intense green colouring of the leaves, the divine fragrance of the flowers and the density of the foliage. All these qualites combined make for an impressive Box alternative. It can also be trimmed into topiary shapes, especially balls.
