Bamboo Screening in Troughs

In our design work we are frequently asked to provide privacy from being overlooked or, in other situations, protection from wind. Bamboo as a hedging screen has two great advantages.

Firstly, with its fabulous evergreen foliage, bamboo is one of the most beautiful plants to use for a hedge or screen, providing a light screening effect.

Secondly, we can supply bamboos from 2.5m to 6m high for an instant screen, which compared to the same sized evergreen trees are relatively inexpensive.

Even at 1.5-1.75m will grow much quicker than any tree species to create your screening. Since it is one of the fastest growing plants in the world, bamboo is a rapid and inexpensive option for creating a privacy screen hedge.

Photinia Red Robin grown on frames: Instant Privacy Screening

A stunning evergreen screening tree with a high ornamental value and very low maintenance.

Being grown on a frame means they take up little lateral space, ideal for small spaces.

Photinia is a popular choice for hedging and screening produces owing to the impressive results they yield.

They have evergreen bright glossy red leaf tips which turn green as they mature. If left unpruned the previous year, they produce beautiful tiny white flowers in June.

Photinia red robin is fast-growing and once established will form a dense foliage that reacts well to clipping, a very desirable characteristic for a screening plant.

Buxus Balcony Screening

A popular choice for evergreen privacy screening due to its dense, thick foliage of glossy leaves.

Its compact growing habit makes it a great low maintenance option.

Buxus plants are very hardy and can survive in the harsh conditions of the balcony environment.

Its evergreen foliage provides excellent year-round screening, creating a good windbreak.
