Recommended by the management Architectural group of the Royal William Yard, the directors of Bistrot Pierre contracted East of Eden to create a Mediterranean themed Al Fresco dining area for their new biophilic restaurant.
Their brief included:
- To extend their eating and drinking area by the creation of an inspirational, all year al fresco area continuous with the restaurant. This was to reflect their Mediterranean / French themed menu and interior design styling, which was being constructed at the same time.
- Al fresco planting to include a combination of low screening hedging with Mediterranean style perennials to screen the area from the surrounding grounds, and neighbouring commercial / retail outlets, as well as create more intimate / private eating and drinking areas for their clients.
- Provide bespoke corten barrier planters for the above planting to reflect the historical architecture of the Royal William Yard.
- Provide additional mature Mediterranean specimen tree focal points to enhance interest and the Mediterranean theme. These included Olive trees and Cypress trees in bespoke corten cube planters.
