Description

Instant Living Screen Elaeagnus ebbingei

120 cm wide x 155 cm high

Introducing a new species to the green screens range - Elaeagnus ebbingei (commonly known as Oleaster)

Being wind and salt resistant, they are ideal for coastal areas and exposed areas, such as balconies.

Their 155 cm height is the perfect size for creating attractive barriers for balconies.

Elaeagnus ebbingei is an evergreen species with attractive, large, beautifully hued oval-shaped leaves of green and silver. What's more, they produce aromatic flowers that will make you want to stop and smells their delightful blooms.

Although Elaeagnus comes from the Greek word elaia, which means 'olive', this species does not produce these fruits, but a type of berry.

Elaeagnus ebbingei is a particularly resistant shrub, coping very well in exposed areas, it also copes well in highly polluted areas, even trapping fine air dust to improving the air quality.

Improve Biodiversity and Attractive Bees and Birds to your outdoor space

Its small, white, aromatic flowers, will provide a wealth of nectar and pollen for a wide range of bees and other pollinators. The flowers will then become charming red berries hued with a silvery glow aptly nicknamed "silver berry", safe for humans to eat (perfect for making jam!) and great for wildlife. They will also produce a dense foliage which will provide a welcoming home for nesting birds.

In this way, Elaeagnus ebbingei green screens, with all its wildlife-boosting elements, can contribute to increasing biodiversity in your outdoor space.

Special Qualities

A great quality of Elaeagnus ebbigei is that it is easy to prune and therefore easy to maintain and does not require the addition of fertilisers, even in poor quality soil.

The ideal location for this species is in a sunny to semi-shade area, making in suitable for most locations.

One of its best qualities is its ability to improve air qualities thanks to its ability to trap fine particles of dust and is therefore ideally located next to busy roads.
